Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage (HMO) for Federal Members

Kaiser Permanente has a special plan for Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) members who are entitled to Medicare called Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage (HMO) for Federal Members.

You will keep your FEHB coverage, but by joining Senior Advantage for Federal Members you will get additional benefits to your FEHB Coverage and pay no additional FEHB premium. With Senior Advantage for Federal Members, you get all of your FEHB benefits plus the following:

  • Reduced copayments for office visits and for most other services, such as chiropractic visits, vision care visits, most prescription drugs, and many other benefits
  • Up to a 60-day supply of prescription drugs for a single copayment
  • Credit toward the purchase of eyewear, including eyeglasses and contact lenses (High Option only)
  • Additional coverage for hearing aids (High Option only)
  • Membership in SilverSneakers® Fitness Program at no additional charge (at participating facilities)

To join a Kaiser Permanente Medicare Health Plan, you must reside in the Kaiser Permanente Medicare health plan service area in which you enroll.

Benefits, formulary, pharmacy network, provider network, premiums and copayments/coinsurance may change on January 1 of each year and at other times in accord with your group’s contract with us.

You must pay the Medicare Part B premium to join a Kaiser Permanente Medicare health plan.

Enrolling in Senior Advantage for Federal Members will not affect the benefits you receive through the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) Program, although the network and other rules of Medicare may apply. FEHB coverage is described in FEHB brochure RI 73-019.

Kaiser Permanente is an HMO plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in Kaiser Permanente depends on contract renewal.
